I’ve always had a thing for numbers, ever since I earned my first bookkeeping certification at 20, I was hooked.
I studied accounting at Santa Monica College and expanded my business education through UCI, earning an HR Officer certification along the way. I’m always learning, whether through formal training such as CPE credits or podcasts like Planet Money, The Economist, and The Accounting Podcast. If it sounds boring to most, I’m probably listening on 1.5x speed.
My goal is to help home service business owners, build profitable, sustainable businesses and have the time to enjoy the life they’re working so hard for. After all, balance isn’t just for the books.

I’ve always had a thing for numbers, ever since I earned my first bookkeeping certification at 20, I was hooked. That early spark led me through seven years in personal and business lending, where I got a front-row seat to how financial decisions shape real businesses.
Eventually, I made the leap to public accounting and climbed the ranks to become head accountant at a CPA firm.
But it wasn’t until I became the controller for an HVAC business in California that I really found my niche. During my time there, the company switched from outdated field management software to ServiceTitan, a powerful tool for trades businesses like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. While the onboarding offered a foundation, it lacked guidance on how to integrate ServiceTitan with QuickBooks Online (QBO), a crucial step for accurate financial reporting and cash flow management.
To solve this, I worked with a consultant, learned the ins and outs of ServiceTitan, and built the proper accounting structure needed for reliable bookkeeping. That experience highlighted a major industry need: skilled bookkeeping support for trades and home service businesses using ServiceTitan and QuickBooks Online.
Learning the ins and outs of the home services industry and how tools like ServiceTitan and QuickBooks Online could work together, lit a fire in me. That’s where my passion for helping contractors and service businesses truly began.

While working as the controller for an HVAC company in California, I helped lead the transition from outdated field management software to ServiceTitan. Through close collaboration with a ServiceTitan consultant, I learned the platform inside and out and eventually became ServiceTitan Certified.
Soon after, other HVAC, plumbing, and service contractors began reaching out to me for help with the same challenges.
That’s when Hillside Books began to grow, becoming a trusted bookkeeping partner for tradespeople across the Bay Area and beyond.
Today, we help home service companies bridge the gap between operations and accounting. From accurate invoicing and payroll to full ServiceTitan–QuickBooks Online integrations, we ensure your books reflect the real story of your business. Along the way, I became a ServiceTitan Certified Accountant, further solidifying our expertise in this niche.
